Package delivery scams look very convincing, and relate to your mail/packages. They often tell you by email, text, or phone that you:
- Missed a delivery
- Need to set delivery preferences
- Owe a fee
They sometimes even have a fake tracking number and have a URL that looks shocking like the name of a real delivery service like UPS.
Be very skeptical when you get a message like this. Do not open any of the links. If it’s an email, check to see if it’s from an email that ends with @ups.com.
If it’s a text, and the phone number has more than 5 numbers (i.e. 69877), it’s likely a scam – text communication from delivery services like UPS typically only have 5 numbers.
